I installed the SQL Server 2005 SE but my senior engineer said that I didnt install the license key correctly. After the installation is complete, where do you define the license key on the server?

Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you didn't use the correct key you can't install SQL Server at all.

That's what I thought. But I am not sure why he is telling me it's not licensed and I need to add the license key. MS SQL Srv 2005 is definitely installed on this box.

Is there a way where you can go and see where the license key is installed or what license key is installed after the installation has completed? Thx.

Have no idea, but nearest I found is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\90\ProductID value. But how that could convert to your License Key I don't know. Also I am not sure that THIS is hat you want :)
BTW did the your senior engineer hates you? :)
Could you ask him/her HOW he/she knows that you didn't enter the proper key?
