Hello All:

Does Analysis Services come with SQL Server 2000 or do I have to download it?

I cannot find it under Start>Programs>Microsoft SQL Server>

Thanks,

Janet

Hi Janet

Analysis Services is an optional component and isn't installed by default, it is on the sql 2000 cd. Load your sql 2000 server cd into the cd-rom > auto-run > sql 2000 components > select analysis services and follow the installation instructions.

Before you install it maybe you should have a look at Analysis Services in BOL which has quite a detailed section on how to set it up and all the features it contains.

Hope this helps.

John

Thank you John.

It is very helpful. A quick question, what is "BOL"?

Hi

Janet, BOL is how we refer to SQL Books Online in the forum.
It is the SQL help/info that comes with sql server when you install it.

Sorry for the BOL, I should have been clearer. :)
