Our SQL Server 2000 installation resides on our Windows 2000 Server.

Is it possible to install the Enterprise Manager on another workstation, so you can manage the SQL Server databases without having to sit in front of the server?

Thanks in advance for you assistance.

Hi. Yes, you can install EM and the other tools on another machine. Just use the SQL Server CD and when prompted, install Client Tools (or it could be Connectivity Tools) only, and not the server portion. I believe that this does the full client tool installation (including Query Analyzer, Service Manager, etc); just go through the system after the install is done and make sure everything's set up how you like it .

HTH,

Doc Tree

Do what Doc Tree suggested and it's the CLIENT TOOLS you want to install.

where do i have to install the copy database wizard from?

the copy database wizard is part of the client install. Import and export data should bring up the wizard.
