SQL schedulled backup failled

We recently had 4 feet of water in our systems room due to a water main break and so I had to rebuild our SQL server. Now I am getting the following error when scheduling a back up in the event viewer "SQL Server Scheduled Job 'DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'DB Maintenance Plan1'' (0x2BA3DCD5CC32B147A71725723CFA1CAD) - Status: Failed - Invoked on: 2004-12-22 14:49:00 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 1 (Schedule 1). The last step to run was step 1 (Step 1)."
I can run a reqular back up but the scheduled ones seem to fail. I belive this could be a permision issue with the sql agent but am not sure where I should change the permision.
Does anyone have an idea why my schedulled back ups failed?

Check the agent account.
Also schedule backup statements instead of using the maint exe - it's simpler.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
