I know absolutely nothing about SQL, but it is being forced upon me. I do not have time for classes, but my reading comprehension is pretty good.
Does anyone know of any online (free) documentation that would be on a beginner level? I am not talking programming or tricks, just basic Sql admin/maintenance stuff.

Thanks!

Books online is the SQl Server Help file. It's really good for learning the basics.

Here are a few.

1 SQL Server 2000/2005 Adminitrators Companion
2. Books On-Line (installed with SQL if you selected that options.)
3. Everyone here at Tek Tips

Thanks to you all.
I am an admin, not a dba, so heretofore I have skillfully avoided having to deal with databases. However, with so many 3rd party apps requiring sql now, I have no choice, and of course, we do not have a SQL DBA on staff, just Oracle.
Thanks again!
