I have aloha 5.3.26 that i'd like to use with SQL databases. My question is this: I have MS SQL server 2005, my version of aloha only has options to use a SQL server up to 2000. Will i encounter any problems like this? If I will encounter problems, do newer versions of aloha have an option to communicate with an SQL 2005 server?

My BOH is running on windows 2003 server btw.

well I did some reading and found out that sql 2005 is not 100% backwards compatible with sql 2000, with my luck that .05% difference in them will be enough to cripple things. so i went ahead and installed sql 2000.

I was hoping someone would be able to provide me with any relevant knowledge base articles for setting up an aloha system with sql 2000. I've been putzing around but with little luck.

i had messed around with the msde sql 7.0 server included with my aloha installation, but that is not compatible with windows server 2003.

ok, well i managed to get everything going, the biggest hurdle i was having was sql server 2000 was trying to start after the ctlrl server, and it needed to be the other way aroudn. a quick registry tweak to make the ctrl server dependent upon the sql server starting up and everything is good.
