All,

I'm using the advanced mode so I can specify joins.

However when I try to use the 'first record' element I can't create any field assignments because the field list is empty.

Should it be possible to use the sql advanced mode and use the first record element?

The eventual plan is to use text to speech to read the result back to the customer

Thanks

I've only used it when I needed to include selects in where, guessing it doesn't know what the result will be.

Can't you just enter the fields manually?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

The 'first record' element doesn't seem to let me type in field names it looks like they have to be selected from the list?

Thanks

Andrew

do you do "select * " or specify each field you select?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

I specified them individually.

Thanks

Andrew

If I do a select with a right join I'm able to only select fields from thee selected table, not the joined.
I can manuelly enter more fields, but can't try if it actually works.

Otherwise I guess the solution would be to create a temptable with the values you want and select that or do views if it's you use the same a lot.

Hello,

Thank you for your help. I think the query might be too complicated for it to follow. I will try an inner join with two tables later.

Thanks

Andrew
