by Peter Gulutzan and Trudy Pelzer. Published by Addison Wesley

Just got this book yesterday and am well into reading it. Absolutely fascinating description of what kinds of things you can do to improve performance. It is not database specifc and talks alot about the why behind different tuning techniques. It has a 2003 pub date so it is a new book. Y'all might want to drop by your bookstore and take a look at it. I know I'm going to find it very useful.

And the name of the book is????

nevermind I re-read the title of your post

Book is the title of the thread. Sorry I wasn't very clear about it. I guess I've gotten too used to our office practice of just starting the message on the title line and then contniuing in the body.
