I am running SQL 2000 on a W2K box (setup by someone else who is no longer here). I start up the Performance Monitor and the SQL counters are missing (various others are available).

The application log contains the following message:
The configuration information of the performance library "C:\WINNT\system32\w3ctrs.dll" for the "W3SVC" service does not match the trusted performance library information stored in the registry. The functions in this library will not be treated as trusted.

I am not sure if this message is indicative of the problem as it not pointing the the SQL counters DLL file but it appears every time I start the Performace Monitor.

Can anyone tell me how to correct this?

Thanks!

Ric

Are you using Performance Monitor or Profiler? You should be using Profiler: Start>Programs>Microsoft SQL Server>Profiler.

Yes, it is PerfMon, but it's re-designed for SQL Server.

I use both Profiler and Performance Monitor, depending on my needs.
