SQL Exchange

Hi, Id like to access my Exchange DB from my MS SQL server.
I know it is posible but somehow i always get a providor error.
what is the best way to do this?
do i need backoffice?

ERROR:
An error occurred while preparing a query for execution against OLE DB provider 'ADSDSOObject'.
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'ADSDSOObject' ICommandPrepare:repare returned 0x80040e14].
