I have to give access to a new SQL database recently setup on a web server to a developer....I am not sure how to do this...any help would be great...

What authentication type does the SQL server have installed? Mixed mode or NT?

If you have mixed mode you can create a SQL login or add the users domain account. IF you have just NT then you can only add the domain account.

What kind of access to the developer need to the database. Does he/she need to modify objects?

The developer needs remote web access and needs to be able to do anything and everything involved in building an ecommerce driven database.. I know how to get and give access on an internal network this is a web server and access is over the internet...
