SQL Corrupt

This is the message i'm getting:
"Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (could not open SQLEVN70.RLL). Pls uninstall then run set up to correct this problem."

It's a SQL 2000 runninng on Windows 2003 machine.
Everything was working fine for the past 2 months until this morning when this error showed up.

I tried to uninstall and tried to re-install but the same error above keeps on coming back.
any ideas how to resove the situation.
I have regular full backup and tlogs backup.

I would un-install it, re-install and restore your database.

Thanks Paul, unfortunately, that's exactly what I did.
it took me 3 hrs to put production sql server back in business.
