HI!
I have msSQL server 7.0 called "Developer Edition" and I installing it on computer with Win98(without network adapter, only modem). But cannot create database or other thing. What i doing wrong?

I am told that MS SQL Server 7.0 will not work under Win98. Look under Technet April 2000 and query for "SQL datatypes".

SQL Server 7.0 will run quite happily on Win98 but you need to install the Sql Server 'Desktop edition' and not the full 'server edition'.
In order to connect to the database you might find that you will require some networking elements installed on the machine as SQL server communicates via the network layers.

hope this helps,

CD

cdukes is right. the desktop edition runs fine on win98 and requires no other networking elements. The catch...the desktop edition is only available on the full SQL server 7.0 installation disk
