I have 2003 Server with SQL 2000/SP4 installed on it. The problem is from the import/export wizard none of the other boxes can be seen to copy data from. The other SQL boxes are XP with SQL 2000/SP4. I've used the Sec Config Wizard and still nothing, I've open almost everything. The only thing I can find is under the SEC CONFIG DATABASE is:

SQL
Description: A SQL client accesses and stores data on a remote SQL Server.
Status: Installed, disabled

Where can I enable this or is this the acuaul problem? All boxes can see and ping each other from Windows.

Make sure all your firewall setting are enabled to access. By default a lot ports and connections are blocked on SQL2003.

Good Luck.

Have you applied SP1 to Windows Server 2003?

I checked all setting in in the config wizard and everything is open for SQL. I do see that it show the client installed but disabled, where can I enable this? The firewall is turned off. Also, I am able to register the server but what whould stop the servers from showing in the drop down list? Now I see that a Standard version of SQL 2000 is running on the 2k3 box and the others have Enterprise, would this cause a problem as well?

Thanks
