This is the 4th week I've had this appear on one of my users computers.

I've used Symantec's web site, deleted the registry keys, etc, ran Spybot Search & Destroy, ran HiJackThis!, installed and ran Windows Defender, and each week Symantec AV finds a new instance of this.

Anyone have a better solution to resolve this spyware?

Thank you!!

Good info. from carr.

Also hit it with spysweeper and ewido. Between these two you should get it just fine.

I would check for malware as well:

spysweeper:

Update the defs and do a sweep.

Also check this out:

Ewido download:

Update it and run a complete scan.

Post logs back and let us know if you got it.

Regards.

Erik

Thanks! I have downloaded ewido trial version and so far its picked up another (Adware.Purityscan) that I thought I got rid of a while ago.

Although I'm sure it'll work: *crosses fingers*

Ewido trial version is great and it will still update itself and run scans fine even after the trial is over, it just won't have real-time protection.

Erik

Hmmm...OK I've done the Ewido, done the spysweeper, and did the steps that carr's link stated.

Yet it still keeps coming back every week.

Any more ideas? For something so simple to remove this is getting annoying!

post also the spysweeper and ewido logs so we can see what they are finding!

HJT logs looks good.

Did you run the super antispyware? Also, did you run spysweeper complete scan with updated defs?

Erik

Spy Sweeper found the marketscore plus two other cookies.

The GIANT Anti Spyware found about 37 cookies, but no spyware.

I wound up finding a suspicious program in add/remove programs called "Modem Helper". I uninstalled, waited a couple of weeks (one I was on vacation) and came back to find that the virus scan didn't see Spyware.Marketscore.

Thanks again for all your help!!

did you turn off system restore?
