I have done a spreadsheet with 12 tabs, I would like to create another tab of names and reference those 12 tabs off the names tabs. How can I do that and add/delete names to the names list it display the new names on the 12 tabs without changing the formulas each additional or deletion that is made.

Thanks!!!

Hi,

You seem to be using Named Ranges, but I can't be sure because your post was too confusing.

Check out Insert/Name/Paste - Paste List button -- give you all the names and range references.

Sheet 1: Names

A1=Bob
A2=Chris
A3=Mary

Sheet 2: Jan 07

A1=Names!A1
B1=Names!B1
C1=Names!C1

This problem is on Sheet 1: Names, I would like to add a row for "Charle" between A1 & A2 in the mean time have Sheet 2: Jan 07 show my change on Sheet 2 without having modify the formula because Client!A2 is reference now Client!A3.

Sorry forr confusion, but have to be a way.

Part of the problem of communication is NOT using the correct terms. "...tab of names and reference ..." means something very specific in Excel -- not at all what you subsequently described.

Excel makes it real easy to screw up if you don't understand what Insert/Delete does to references. You have discovered one of the unintended consequences if INSERT.

I almost NEVER use Insert because of the problems that it can cause.

I'd add the name in A4 and Sort them into sequence.

But on all 12 tabs, they need to be in alphabetically order at the time of insert or delete. Is their no way to mirror a tab onto the 12 tabs???

Is that not what I suggested -- SORT???
