I get spots around my text on my printout. How do I eliminate these?

I'm new to Illustrator, and am using Illustrator 9.0 on a PC. I'm printing on an HP inkjet printer and see spots on the printout ouround the text boxes. The spots are not on the screen when I'm working with the project, only on the printout.

3 things.....

try a SELECT ALL......this will show you if there are any tiny pieces of paths laying around that you are printing........

Most likley it is your printer.......your ink could be getting low or your ink jets could be alittle dirty....i had a similar problem just before I ran out of ink.......i wasn't working in illustrator but the problem sounds the same......

Also try trouble shooting and print something from a different program like Quark or something you can import the Illustrator file you are working on into.

Good Luck!!!

Try this:
Select all, and the press (Command-Shift-O) for Create Outlines. (All the text will be converted to independent outlines). Then give the print out.

Even if this does not work, then you can make a pdf of the file and then print it.

Hope this will help. Please respond.
