Out-of-the-box lightweight Absence system
Hi, Just wanted feedback to see if this feature is wanted. At least it is common in scandinavia.
Normally this feature is a 3rd party server and application, and not all brands even manage to show display text when an absence is set,
so I built a light-variant only using Avaya out-of-the-box functions and voice prompts.
Tested successfully with: Avaya desk phones, One-X portal, IX Workplace, IP Office Web Client, Communicator for web. Locales Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, English.
Features:
[ul]
[li]Absence text and status text in phones, softphones, One-x p trigger spoken information when a call hits Voicemail.[/li]
[ul][li]Example: Holiday til 0301 will give the caller "Extension NNNN is on holiday until the first of march"[/li][/ul]
[ul][li]Example: Friday 0930 will give the caller "Extension NNNN is unavailable until friday, nine thirty"[/li][/ul]
[ul][li]Example: Lunch til 1230 will give the caller "Extension NNNN is at lunch until twelve, thirty"[/li][/ul]
[ul][li]Example: Meeting til 1600 will give the caller "Extension NNNN is in a meeting until sixteen hundred"[/li][/ul]
[ul][li]If no back time is set, the voice will be, example "Extension NNNN is in a meeting, please try again later"[/li][/ul]
[li]After the message, the caller can select to repeat the message, leave a message, talk to operator etc and select to hear in english if local is another language.[/li]
[li]Language:Will use the language (locale) set in the Users extension settings (or system setting).[/li]
[li]Automatic inactivation: deletion of the text and DND (or forwarding to voicemail) by the first incoming call if the back time has passed.[/li]
[li]Inactivate manually: Shortcode or voicemail breakout(using personal VM pin) to delete text & DND (or forwarding to voicemail). Or add a button on a deskphone.[/li]
[li]Remote access:Use the voicemail breakout(press 8 right beore leave message and enter personal VM pin) to manually activate/change/activate text & DND/Fwd.[/li]
[li]Customize:Admin can add more trigger words and add recorded prompts to add functionality. Example: Tomorrow 0830 = "Extension NNNN, will be back tomorrow at, eight thirty"[/li]
[li]No 3rd party applications: No cost for other licences than VMpro channels, no extra servers, no support fees to 3rd parties.[/li]
[/ul]
Limitations:
[ul]
[li]This system is using the default Avaya voice prompts. Text and voice prompts are used as accordingly as possible.(See VMPro manual Appendix)[/li]
[li]Cannot schedule future absence, since this is out of the box IP Office stuff, there is no database server involved[/li]
[li]For correct spoken back time or date and automatic removal of text and DND/Fwd:[/li]
[ul][li]Remember that VMpro can only read the first 16 characters from your absence/status text[/li][/ul]
