Please help,

Windows 7 (64-bit), when trying to print from applications (in particular, office 2007 & acrobat reader) the system will hang making the application unresponsive. The system can be recovered by taskkill-ing SPLWOW64, and all is OK until next time. (All variety of printers using pre-installed drivers, so the typical response on a google search of blaming HP printer drivers is not the issue.)

Any ideas out there on how to fix SPLWOW64.

TIA

As it is a Windows file have you tried running the System File Checker program?

How to repair the operating system and how to restore the operating system configuration to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista (or 7)

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

How to analyze the log file entries that the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker (SFC.exe) program generates in Windows Vista

Is any other process causing the problem?

If this a problem on just one machine, is testing with a different user a solution?

These are the details of the file on my 64-bit Windows 7
