Anybody know of a device that can split a t1 ISDN PRI to connect to 2 systems at same time. Therfore the systems are sharing all 23 lines/channels. In essense 1 connection to PBX- CM5/Definity and the other connection to a standby server thru its ISDN T1 connection (such as a reverse 911 system)

the definity is robust, so it isn't needed daily;-)
if it fails, replug the t1 yourself to the 2nd ds1?

CSU / DSU Mux will allow you to split "B" channels for voice and data to be used for multiple systems.

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

What you're looking for is a "drop and insert" T1 CSU. They can be set to provide x number of channels to one system, and y number of channels to another. They have one net connection, and two or more DTE connections to connect to your PBXs.

You might also consider putting a tie line between both systems, and plugging the T1 into one of them. The alternate PBX can route it's calls through the first as a tandem switch.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
