I have a memo field (Address) currently used for addresses.

I want to split the memo field into 5 parts (Address1, 2, 3, 4, PostCode)(the memo field currently stores each address line on one line) so that I have 5 fields for the address.

Is there a way of automating this?

Hi

See Instr(), Mid(), Left(), Right() in Help, also be aware that if you have the memo appearing as five lines, the each line is (probably) terminated with a carriage Return and / or Line feed character (Chr(13), chr(10)), which you can search for using Instr()

If ac2k or above you may consider creating a Public Function playing with the Split function.

Hope This Helps, PH.
