Split database MDE TableDefs not saved

I am working with a split database with the front end MDE/ACCDE and Back end MDB
I added the ability to open/run Link Table Manager on the front end in the event a users of the distributed version move the back end to a new location or server...
I all seems to work fine except the updated linked tables do not seem to be saved. I am thinking that sata can not be saved to the TableDefs in a mde/accde.

If that is the case, is there a way to do this programmatically? Am I just missing something?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I typically use code similar to Doug Steele's DSN-less Connections.

It was leaning that direction.
Not sure why, but I just went back and was going to add some code, and what do you know. I is now retaining the linked tables using link table manager.
