SPI & Other firewalls - Do I need both ? 1

Hi All
I am just dipping my toe into the cold waters of Networking !!!
If my setup has a SPI firewall can I ditch any other firewall's installed on any computers that use it ?
I think I can guess at the answer but would like to be sure!
