Spell check checking reply when it should be disabled

I have a user running Outlook 2003 and his spell checker is checking the entire email including the reply section.

Under options/spelling
"Ignorge original message text in reply or forward" is checked

Have even tried reinstalling Outlook which did not fix the problem, any ideas?

Is Word set as your Default Email Editor? If so, it uses the Word spellchecker and not the Outlook spellchecker.
