Ok, what's ECHO and how did it get turned on and how do I get it off.

ssu is assigned to a key (key 5 and 23)and to the set under ssu prompt

is there any trouble with leaving SSU on a hard key and a softkey?

What kind of terminal are you using. It is a problem with the terminal you are using and not the PBX. Check the setting of you terminal or computer or whatever you are using. Like the said it is echoing on the terminal
