We have a spectralink i640 system (i640 handsets) running SCCP over our network and have a SVP100 (model #SVP101) controller that prioritises the voice traffic with our cisco aironet access points.
We have had this system running very smoothly for over 2 years.
Recently, the SVP controller started getting ethernet frame errors, or at least we noticed them when users started to complain about garbled voice when using the wireless phones.
A Power cycle of the SVP100 unit restored voice quality to normal.
We thought that maybe there was a bad network cable, switch port or congested link so we replaced everything and moved to the core of the network. same issue.
We reduced the port from 100 to 10mbit which eliminated any new ethernet frame errors.
However, basically when the unit is on for 5 days exactly the quality of voice deteroriates to a point where you can't carry on a conversation and the only fix is to power cycle the unit. 5 days like clock work.
A Replacement unit costs $1900cdn so we dont really want to buy a new one if we dont need it. It has the latest firmware and the network is not congested.
Polycom wont help us as we dont have an active maintenenace agreement with them.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
