IP Office Essential Edition, R8.0(44), Embeddeded Voicemail, 1416 phones with Line Appearances...

The site cannot use their speakerphone button to grab a line with the speakerphone, answer a call with it, or transfer from the handset to the speakerphone. This is happening on all phones, and the Audio Path is set correctly. When they press the speaker button, nothing happens. The only way they can get a speakerphone function to work at all is on a new call - they can press the line, then speaker, and then it will work. I tried setting an extension to Call Appearances only just in case the LA's were the issue, but the same problem persists. Any ideas?

ETA to add: there are no headsets being used at the site, just the phones themselves.

Great suggestion, triple T - unfortunately, Idle Line Preference is checked, along with Ringing Line Preference (both are defaults, I believe). However, Delayed Ring Preference is also checked, and that's not a default. Any chance that could be messing with it? I'd think not, but you never know.

on the extension for the users is the disable speaker phone box ticked?

Thanks Joe - no, the box isn't checked. I should also add that this is an R7.0(36) instead of an R8.0(44).

so just to be clear, if you are on a call with the handset you can not hit the speakerphone button to grab the call?

Correct - you can't hit the speakerphone to transfer from handset to speaker and you can't hit the speakerphone button to start a call (doing either does nothing to the call). The only thing you can currently do is press a line key to get dial tone, then press speakerphone to be hands-free.

Also 1 last thing to look at, on the phone under menu options/ call settings/ what is audio path set to

ok I believe I read the thread too quick, I believe the issue is that you have line appearances which is just another reason why we do not like these as they do not play well with the ip office, try this remove the line appearances from 1 set and add call appearances and retest you will find that it works as desired with call appearances in lieu of line appearances

I've done all those things already per my original and follow-up posts. Still nothing...

ya your right sorry read your thread too quick, no clue maybe someone else has a clue.

No worries, thanks for the attempt regardless.

Ok just to be sure, did you do a full reboot of the system not just a soft reboot?

I have, but I just did another one and will have the site test it again.
