sparcstation 5, boot problems

i have a sparcstation 5 that uses a 13w3 to vga converter to use a vga monitor. My problem is that my sun keyboard is not being detected by the sparc. When it boots all the lights ont he keyboard turn on and blink and such, then the monitor turns on and I get the following error "keyboard not found using tty for input". the first time I powered it up my computer did boot, but unfortuantly that was the only time. Any help would be apreciated.

I would reseat the kbd connector or try another known working keyboard and reboot.
