I've got a Sparc system that was originally built in and delivered to the UK then sent to me. I'm in the US. The company basically said "keep it" after our relationship changed. Is there some sort of real low level bios type thing I can upgrade to have it act more like the Sparc systems I'm used to? I plan to re-build the whole thing w/Solaris 8. I had it running, tried changing the system info with the unconfig command. It looked ok, but now seems to have gone to sleep after taking the info from the unconfig operation. I want to start from ground zero.
Thanks Much.

Sounds like a fresh install is in order. During the install, things like timezone are specified so you should end up with the system setup as you need it. Also this is the right place for any advise you need when setting the system up.

if you are not sure what is installed and how it is configured I suggest to setup from scratch

If you just want to move a system from one env to another just run: sys-unconfig and boot in the new environment
