sparc booting

Hello
I've got hold of a ultra 5 , however there is no OS installed in it. So I've downloaded solaris 8.

Put the cdrom in the drive and noting.

How do I make the system boot from the cd drive.

type:
boot cdrom

I think it's important to note that Sun shipped a defective install CD with Solaris 2.8 You should begin by inserting the Software 1/2 CD and 'boot cdrom' from Openboot. James.Horvath@truedatasan.com

hi man ,

just on ok prompt
ok > boot cdrom -s
thsi is single user mode
if you find any problem while booting CDrom then just try
ok> boot -r

which can reconfigure all devices on the system sothat it might help you to install solaris 8
