Hello,

So i have the 2003 exchange setup, all the mailboxs were moved from a 3rd party mail box hosting company and are now on the exhcange box. Since the switch, we're getting tons of spam, is there anything i can do? Also what AV and Spam systems do you guys recommend?

GFI has both AV for Exchange and Anti-Spam. Check out their website for details.

We use trendmicro ScanMail. I think the major Antivirus company all have the Exchange aware product.

Install SP2 and configure recipient, connection, and sender filtering, and tarpitting.

58Sniper's method is free and does do quite a bit. If you find this is not enough then consider 3rd party products.

I'm getting a ton of spam as well. And I have Exchange SP2 installed on my SBS2k3. Most of mine, though, are spam with .pdf attachments. Scares me to think that one of my users may accidently open one of those, eventhough I have informed them of the hazard. <shiver>.

Going to do as Pat suggested about the Filtering and Tarpitting. let me do some reading on what Tarpitting is and what exactly I need to do in the configuration of the Recpient, Conenction and Sender Filters. I take it that all of these are server based configs?

Thank you,

Dan
