i have a report that's new courier western 9pt. it has a subreport that's the same font, it prints rows of instructions. The problem is that the row of records printed in the subreport are not close enough. The users want to make sure that no one can type between the rows of instructions in the subreport. Is there any parameter that can tightend the "vertical" spacing between row of records in the subreport. I have to use 'couirer new western".

People cannot type into Crystal anyway, and if you're exporting it to Excel or some such, users can then do an insert or whatever and retype anyway, it's a faulty logic being applied to the why, but anyway, you can shrink down spacing by selecting the field and resizing it in the report, and/or by shrinking the section it is in.

If it';s a multi line (can grow) column, you can use the right click->Format field-Paragraph->Spacing X times normal.

I think you've mis-understood my question. The line spacing between individual records in the subreport.

i.e.

example 1.

record1 xxxxxxx
ssdllllllll hello.

record2 adfasdfasdfasdfaf dfadf
adfadfdfadfadfasdfasdfadfasdfdf...
asdfasdf.

record3 dfdf, hadfadsfadslle something.

record4..........

now... paragraph spacing effects the spacing for each paragraph. but the spacing betwee records 1-4 is what I want to decrease.

example 2.

record1.........
record2.........
record3..........
record4.........

as you can see once the "physical report" is printed, a user can not easily write between records 1-4 in the second example. As were a person has more "whitespace" in example 1.

You probably want to go to format section and suppress blank section. That should eliminate the spacing.

I need to add that if it is a sub report you may have to set up the suppress blank section there.
