Hi,

Is there any way to check how much space a backup is using on a tape, and how much space I have left on the tape: This is on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

Hi,

Check your activity log. For each job you should have a summary at the end.
At the end you should have a row saying something like:
"Media Remaining Capacity" XXX MB/GB
This line shows how much free space there is on your media after a backup.

Please let me know if the post was helpfull for you
Regards,
GSC

Please look at the end of your job in the Activity log and you will see something like this:20020824 000214 107 ** Summary for Job **
19 Sessions.
9,247 Directories 114,532 Files (30,706.36 MB) Backed Up to Media.
9 Databases/Transaction Logs (3,884.10 MB) Backed Up to Media.
7 154 Directories/Files Skipped.
34,992.50 MB Written to Media.
Total Size (Media)45,107.50 MB Remaining
Elapsed Time: 6h 14m 57s
Average Throughput: 93.28 MB/min

This will give you more details.
