SP2 caused HyperTerminal PE to stop working?

I have for years used HyperTerminal Private Edition (free download from Hillgraeve) to replace the HyperTerminal that is supplied with Windows. I recently installed SP2 for my Windows 2003 Server and HyperTerminal PE stopped working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and it still fails to display anything (either using a serial or Telnet connection). I have reverted back to the provided HyperTerminal but there are a couple of things I want from the PE version.

Has anyone else seen this or has a workaround? XP SP2 didn't break this as I have a laptop with HyperTerminal PE installed that works fine.
