In the near future I will need to de-commission two 9076 SP Frames with 10 nodes (some wide, some high, some PCI, some MCA).

1) what's the best way to delete all data from the SSA disks so that they are clean (i.e. remove sensitive/confidential information)
2) and/or clean up rootvg/remove the OS

They are running 4.3.3

It seems all of my beloved SP are going away.

Anyway, there is a format utility in smit under diag (I think that is where it is). You can select the number of passes and the characters to write, etc.

yup, true. we can make use of the format utility under diags. Or better yet if its really confi like in banks you can do degausing of the disks.
