When I have a SoundBlaster Live! Value installed in my Windows 2000 desktop PC, every so often during the final portion of loading Windows, I get the blue screen message: "STOP: 0x00000012 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) TRAP_CAUSE_UNKNOWN". This problem has never happened when I have the SoundBlaster card removed.
I have tried uninstalling all SoundBlaster drivers and the LiveWare software and downloaded the latest SoundBlaster software from Creative and installed the card with those. I have tried uninstalling all SoundBlaster drivers and software and reinstalling the card just with the native Windows 2K drivers. I have tried turning off plug-and-play in BIOS and that hasn't helped either. So far, nothing works except pulling the card out of the computer.
My setup is:
Microsoft Windows 2000 [5.00.2195], Service Pack 2
Tyan Trinity 400 S1854 Motherboard
Award Bios 4.51 PG
PIII 733MHZ
128 MB RAM
So, what do I try next?
