soundblaster not working

Thanks for the help with the com ports problem. I now have the modem and mouse working together. I'm now down to one last problem. I have installed the drivers for the sound card (Soundblaster Audio PCI 16bit) and the device manager doesn't report any conflicts.. I do not, however, get the little speaker icon in the system tray, and I get no audio output.

Any ideas are appreciated.

hehe, the problem was I tryign the wrong drive... the 16 bit version for some reason didn't cut it, so when I downloaded the 128bit, it worked perfectly.

It really would be nice if hardware was easily identifyable... I pulled the card out of the system, and could only tell that it was a soundblaster
