Does anybody have a computer that doesn't seem to have a PC speaker? Compaq Presario running Windows XP doesn't seem to have one. Or else it has moved port addresses, for SOUND does not work. It don't bother me, but I was just wondering if anyone else has a similar situation.

Well I have a self-build. Since the speaker was so annoying, I removed mine by force (hand).

Just like Balai, when I constructed my 286 XT (many, many moons ago), I too got annoyed with it and unplugged it. Eventually (and fortunately) I got used to the ones at work and learned to mentally ignore them (unless they gave more than the "System's a GO" single solitary beep.)

Unless you open up the housing unit, you'll never REALLY know.

Note... It could be muted...

Check the pc speaker setting in the play control dialog...

I think My new pc was muted by default...

Hello. For example, a lot of games crash in XP due the speaker. If a game has the no speaker option enabled, it would work properly.
