Sound on Solaris 10

Hi,

I have a new x86 machine that I like to get sound working on. It has a VIA 8237 southbridge chip. I downloaded a driver from

http://www.tools.de

and it didn't work. Then I discovered a driver on Sun's website. So I installed that and sound still doesn't work.

Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

I had the same problem. Save yourself a lot of grief and aggravation. Go to

http://www.opensound.com

and get the osssound package from them (a good solaris FAQ

http://www.sun.drydog.com).

Thank you for your prompt response. I have downloaded the driver but haven't tried it yet due to further problems with the Java Desktop System.
