sound of door opening

Every once in awhile I hear the sound of a door opening while I am online. Can someone tell me what this sound means? I feel like it is a warning of something happening.
Thanks in advance. All here are always helpful.

You must have some IM client running. To me it sounds like somebody logging into yahoo messenger.
