Sound Drivers need regular reinstalling

Box - Mitsubishi LS series

Every now and then the sound card drivers need reinstalling (winamp message box). no new software or hardware installed - it just tells me. any ideas whats making it do this?

What happens to the sound when the message appears?

Do you have any old sound drivers installed that could be mixing things up? Maybe you need to completely wipe out all the old and new drivers and freshly install them...

Sound just goes completely. No old sound drivers completely fresh install a few months back.

Search the web and use different drivers, there are usually several different versions that will work.
