sound card and recording in use problems

i reinstalled the sound card driver, it still tells me that it is in use when i try to record or use sound. could it be that i need a new sound card or perhaps can i try to disable all the third-party services (if so please post instructions) any suggestions or wise words thank you all very much

What kind of card is it?

Is it brand new?

If its brand new check your manuall for information.

It does sound like either you have install the wrong drivers or your card might be faulty.

Please give me more information about your card.
