Sound and Speakers

Why is it that when I plug in my headphones my speakers still have sound comming out of them as well as my headphones? How do I fix this? so that when I plug in my headphones the sounds doesn't come out of my speakers?

Yes turn the power button off on your speakers

Radio Shack (and others) sell a switch box that switches between speakers and head phones (with or without "boom Mike&quot.

Do both your Speakers and Headphones plug into different outputs on the back of your computer? If so then you can control them independantly through the volume control in windows.
