Is it possible to sort records in the datasheet view of a subform so that the new record appears on top? I know it's possible to sort the already written records descending, but what I'd like to see, if possible, is the new record that's waiting to be written at the top of the list instead of at the bottom.

Don't know if it can be done, but I figured I'd ask.

Thanks to all.

I would consider adding text boxes to the main form above the datasheet subform. Enter the new record there and use code to insert it into the record source of the subform.

Thanks.

I would have been interested had there been some simple way to sort it differently, but it just isn't that important. It's one of those things where "it would be nice", which is why I asked, but it doesn't matter enough to spend a lot of time on.

I appreciate the response nonetheless.

Thanks, but that only sorts the already written records. A new, unwritten record appears at the bottom of the list. Ideally I'd like the unwritten record to appear at the top, with the already written (and ordered) records below it.
