Hello-

I have a series of accounts and their values being calculated in the detail line but then displayed, for a variety of reasons, in the group footer.* I need to sort the contents of this footer by the account number, but when I use the group sort expert, all that I have as choices are the Sum * fields.

Does anyone know the clever way in which I can achieve the results I'm looking for? Am I missing something painfully obvious? I've been looking at this report waaay to long. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
joni.

* This is a departmental income statement. Detail line contains formulas for each column which select different types of data depending on conditions. Footer contains summary of each account then displays a line per summarized account along with its account number. Need to sort by account number.

What are your groups? The footers (and your details) will sorted first based on your groupings and secondly on any additional sort fields. Go to report->sort records and let us know what is there.

Thanks for your reply!

It turns out I can redefine the group based on the account number, rather than what was in there already, and that solves my problem entirely.

I appreciate your response.
