Good evening. I have a report that is grouped by file number. This is (presently) the only group in the report. However, I want to sort the groups based on a field (start time) that is placed in the Group Header (GH1). The start time field is a Formula Field.

Is what I want to do even possible?

Thanks!

What is the content of the formula? Does it have the same value throughout the group? Or is it the earliest or most recent date per group?

The content of the formula is:
minimum({table1.datetime},{table1.filenumber})

It is the first datetime per group.

Instead of creating a formula, right click on the datetime field in the detail section and insert a summary->minimum. Drag the result into the group header. Then go to report->group sort->select "minimum of table1.datetime" as your group sort field. The group sort option is only activated for inserted summaries.

Worked perfectly. Thank you very much.
