Sorting Information In A Single Field

I have a form that I use to key in information. On the form are 3 items, Location Name, Location ID, and Pump ID. Is there a way to key in information on the pump ID field; and as information changes at the location and you have to change Pump ID Field to stay current, you can have the field to automatically sort the field for you?

automatically sort....um...are you talking about a list box? combo box? (those are the only fields that would have a sort capability - because they are presenting you with a list of choices that would be sorted.) then you would define the sort in the row source.
