Sorting in Excel

Has anyone tried to sort a spreadsheet by more than 3 columns?

Is it possible, and if so, how?

A common way is to do it in 2 (or more) steps:
1) sort by the less signifiants columns
...
?) sort by the 3 major key columns

Another way is to sort by a new column containing a concatenation of well formatted values of the sort keys.
