Hello. I am working on a report in CR Ver 8.5. My report contains a subreport. My subreport groups by ID number and finds the maximum date associated with the ID number. I am then sharing the DateTime Variable maximum date with the main report and it is that variable that I am trying to sort the main report by. The formula associated with it is not available to use for sorting. Any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this? Thanks.

Lisa

You can't sort by anything that comes back from a subreport. Can you get the Max to happen in the main report? If so you can use the TopN to sort the groups. Ken Hamady, On-site/Phone Crystal Reports Training/Consulting

Thank Ken. That was the answer that I had expected. I am able to get the max on the main report as long as I group by the ID number. I will look into using the TopN to sort the groups. Thanks for the help and suggestion.
