Using CR10

I have a list of Work Orders that are Grouped by a controlling Work Order.

Work Order Controlling Date Started (Grouped by 111)
215G01 111 10/8/2010
215G02 111 10/8/2010
215G02 111
215G02 111

Work Order Controlling Date Started (Grouped by 222)
215H01 222 10/4/2010
215H02 222 10/3/2010
215H02 222
215H02 222

I need the Controlling Group 222 to show first because the First Work Order in this group started First.

How can this me accomplished?

Thanks,
Ray

If you always want the '222' group first, you could sort the group using "In Specified Order" instead of 'In Ascending Order"

The controlling number is random. The Start Date of a work order within the group should determine the order.

I wouldn't know which one to Specify until the first charge date of onw of the work orders.

If you insert a minimum on the date at the controllingWO group level, you can then do a group sort on minimum of the date field.

Worked perfectly.

Thanks,

This is exactly what I need to do as well but how do you 'insert a minimum on the date' at the group level?

Place the datefield in the detail section (if it's not already there), right click on it->insert summary->minimum and then below that->summary location: choose the group level. Then go to report->group sort and select "All"->choose the summary for the group sort.
